This scarab pin, created by renowned costume jewelry designer, KENNETH JAY LANE, is a MUST HAVE for its overall beauty, LARGE SIZE, quality materials, EXCELLENT weight/feel, & labor-intensive details.
Mr. Lane uses only SWAROVSKI stones.
The stones in this piece are AMAZING.
The focus is the HUGE center stone on the scarab’s body.
The GOLDEN TOPAZ-like stone is oval shaped, bevel set, beautifully faceted, & measures ~20 mm x 14 mm!
The golden rhinestone is surrounded by “PEACOCK GREEN” ENAMELING.
Surrounding the green enamel are PAVE SET, graduated, clear SWAROVSKI stones, & mill graining.
The beetle’s FACE has OUTSTANDING stones & enamel, too.
The face’s center stone is a blazing RUBY RED faceted stone.
The beetle’s EYES are CEYLON SAPPHIRE BLUE CABOCHON stones surrounded by more of the “PEACOCK GREEN” enameling.
The beetle’s legs are in a high polished gold tone metal.
The reverse is highly texturized gold tone metal.
